The city of Murcia, capital of the Region of Murcia, is a city full of history, art and joy. It is the 7th largest city in Spain and has more than 500,000 inhabitants. Murcia has historically had a great university tradition, with 2 universities (the University of Murcia and San Antonio’s Catholic University, best known as UCAM) and more than 40,000 students.

Murcia’s climate is generally warm, with more than 300 days of sunshine a year. The average annual temperature is 18º C and the average for the summer months is 26º C, although there can be maximum temperatures of 40º C. In winter the average temperature is 13º C and it does not usually go below 0º C. The rainfall is scarce, just about 300 liters a year.
